The lost letter of the alphabet
It is easy to think of the alphabet that we recite and use as something fixed, but like almost everything in language, it changes. We call it Roman, but the Romans would not have recognized our "J", "U" or "W". Their sound for "I" resembles the noise we usually make with the "J", and their "V" resembles some of the sounds we denote with "U" and "W".
Having this in mind, my client’s vision was a new letter of the alphabet that sounds like "ourf" because she wanted to start up a new brand of clothes with the letter of the her and her sister’s initials.
